INTRODUCING THE FREE

MISSIO PARATA, Lenten Challenge


You are so much more than "just" a spouse, parent, employee, business owner, or entrepreneur. 

 

You are a unique, unrepeatable, beloved child of God.

 

And he has created you on purpose and for a purpose. 

 

In the words of St. John Henry Newman: "God has created me to do Him some definite service; He has committed some work to me which he has not committed to another. I have my mission." 

 

You have a mission. The question is: Are you ready for it? 

 

  Missio Parata means "Mission Ready" in Latin. 

 

This Lenten challenge is designed to help you become a fit instrument in the hands of God so that you have the capacity to accomplish the mission that he's given you. 

 

Here's how it works: 

  • Disciplined Diet & Fasting

    You will abstain from sugar, alcohol, gluten, and dairy for the entire challenge. These are the most inflammatory foods for most people and eliminating them will help your body heal and strengthen.  You will also be fasting on each Friday (based on your tolerance and only if you aren't pregnant or nursing.) Fasting is a powerful spiritual practice that also reaps tremendous physical benefits. 

  • Restorative Sleep 

    You will commit to spending 7-8 hours in bed each night.  This will likely require planning and creative scheduling, but it is possible.  Sleep is often the first thing to get neglected when women get busy, but it is so critically important.  You need the clarity, focus, and vitality that restorative sleep will give you in order to accomplish your mission. 

  • Deep & Powerful Prayer

    You will commit to praying a daily Rosary, 30 minutes of Lectio Divina, and going to Confession at least once during the challenge.  The Rosary is a miraculous conduit of grace that will help prepare you for whatever God is asking of you. By approaching God with an open heart in daily Lectio Divina, you'll be able to discern and hear more clearly exactly what your unique mission is.  

  • Daily Movement

    You will be moving your body every day for at least 30 minutes.  This can be broken up throughout the day and can be as simple as going for a walk and doing some stretching, or as intense as you choose to make it.  Exercise is the most effective way to increase your focus, concentration, growth of new brain cells, and ability to manage stress.  This will all help you to serve God better.

Each week of past Missio Parata Lenten Challenges, I hosted a live training call to help you get the most out of the challenge.  This year (2025) I won't be hosting live calls, but you can still access all of the following trainings as recordings. 

  • Pre-Challenge Training Call 

    In this training I'll be outlining the protocol of the challenge in greater detail and making sure that you have everything that you need to succeed. 

  • The Benefits of Eliminating Inflammatory Foods & Tips to Make it Easier

    You may wonder why this challenge requires you to eliminate sugar, alcohol, dairy, and gluten.  In this training I'll explain the science behind eliminating these foods, what benefits you can expect, and how you can make it easier to do. 

  • How to Listen When God is Speaking 

    Lectio Divina is a key component of the Missio Parata Lenten Challenge--but it may be unfamiliar to you.  In this training, I'll teach you what Lectio Divina is and how to do it so that you can more clearly hear what God is asking you to do. 

  • Sleep is Your Superpower

    Sleep is critical--yet often neglected.  In this training I'll share strategies for getting better sleep along with the benefits you can expect when you fully commit to making sleep a priority. 

  • Tips for Praying the Rosary 

    A lot of busy people struggle to pray the Rosary consistently.  In this training I'll provide strategies to make it easier, deepen your experience of the Rosary, and pray the Rosary as a family (even if you have rambuctious kids). 

  • The Benefits of Fasting and How to Maximize Them 

    Fasting is a part of the protocol for the challenge, but it may be unfamiliar to you.  In this training I'll share the benefits of fasting (mental, physical, and spiritual) as well as how to effectively do it (without murdering anyone). 

  • Making Daily Movement a Lifestyle 

    It can be difficult to incorporate 30 minutes of daily movement into your busy life--especially if exercise is something that you've tended to neglect in the past.  In this training, we'll talk about how exercise can give you more time than it takes, as well as how you can easily incorporate daily movement into your life. 

  • Closing Call--What to Do Now 

    In this call, we'll celebrate! We'll also talk about what to do next--and this is perhaps the most important part of the whole challenge--you've become a fit instrument in the hands of the Lord...now what are you going to do?
